You may have asked what makes a work of art c.q. painting great that may taunt us? Everybody knows that great works of art and paintings can only be those that have originated from their subtle domains of existence. That is the domain where these exist as perfect idea or a kinda subtle sein of things that are destined to come about to exist in this world of matter.
They have become great because these are not artificially concocted ideas or visions.
On the contrary, in their origins they have been aptly plucked from the mystical domain of sheer principles.
Then skillfully and accurately implemented by a clever observant artist to make them become to exist concretely in material Realität that can be testified of and appreciated by observers other than the artist.
Or you may say a great work of art or painting is that which has great beauty.
What is beauty? That which reminds us of where it came from.
Does this domain truly exist? This domain positively does exist. It's the place where all ideas and feelings that humanity may have reside. There's a niche where true beauty exists as beauty does pertain to the total spectrum of human feelings. So true beauty can only exist there. Humans do visit there. For instance we are aware of these domains in our dreams, visions, trances, meditations and other extraordinary states of awareness.
Could we call an example of awareness of this domain in artists? Well, a great abstract maister once made a work called Where Dreams Go To Die. The somewhat negative title purportedly alludes to an insightful premisse pointing to the awareness of the existence of such higher levels or domains of awareness. But the artist was never heard from again since then. Some people say that they have seen him driving a maggot ridden wormeaten London rickshaw cabbie somewhere around Picadilly Square.
Why does beauty stirs us. Because it makes us long back to our true and original state.
What is our sense of beauty. A vestige or remnant of that sweet memory of those arcadian fields.
Why do we strife. Some of us strife others do not.
Those who strife like power, money, glamour and strife to be good to get these.
Those who don't strife don't give a damn because they know they already lookin'good like sheep with the beauty of their nude skin reminding of a young lassies.
